Rednecks and big cities are pretty much mutually exclusive by definition. Living and working throughout Georgia I have actually known more than a few people that call themselves Rednecks (especially in South Georgia) and down to almost a one they all cringe at the thought of living in Atlanta. They pretty much consider Atlanta to be a hell for rednecks.

Seriously though, as a first hand observer of many a redneck I know they value things like: Having acres and acres of land far from urban areas where they can do things like shoot their guns in their back yard, deer hunting, farm work, bogging in pickup trucks or four wheelers. None of these things can be done in Atlanta city limits and furthermore rednecks will tell you they hate traffic and many of them don't care for gays, hipsters, liberals or foreigners (not all of them think that way, but) and those are things they would have to deal with in way way higher doses in Atlanta than in the countryside.

Honestly, as for the city itself and the immediate suburbs..its FARRRRR from redneck, but looking at the entire metro since Cherokee, Paulding, Forsyth, many parts of Henry, Carroll, and Coweta Counties are all included in the metro, you could definitely make an argument about the metro being redneck. I cringe at the fact of being in any of those areas lol

I was hoping no one would post this stupid redneck thing. I notice that everytime Atlanta does something well like the recent hosting of the Final Four games, its always some stupid magazine ranking or article that comes out and try to hate on our city.

I wonder why rednecks in the city limits of Atlanta have a darker tan than rednecks in the rest of the South. According to the last U.S census, 54 percent of Atlanta's redneck population have a dark tan.

I use to work out of Atlanta and there is no way absolutely no way Atlanta is red neck! Lol I saw the listing and came straight to CD and knew there would be a thread on it.

It seems that you listed the counties that have the highest white percentage. Are you calling white people rednecks?
