I am considering relocating to Snellville , Loganville or Grayson Ga. I am coming from Bakersfield Ca, ( tired of the crime, taxes high cost of living, low wages, and increase of poverty)and happy to leave, just looking for some information on the locations listed in terms of schools and neighborhoods. I have looked up information in reference to crime, and poverty, as well as the diversificastion of the area. I am just looking for a clear indication of safe, quality living areas for my family and children.

Looking at these areas for relocation. How are the local schools? Any insight on crime, taxes, poverty, population growth? I am really considering Loganville, but will be working in Snellville. Is the commute long in the Morning? Any problems with local schools I need to know about? I will be relocating in a few weeks, but will travel there next week to scout out suitable housing. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Candice

Candice, I've been doing the same thing as you - we are moving up to the Gainesville area from S. Florida. I have found a good website to check out schools: www.greatschools.net - hope this helps you out.

Candice,
We have just moved 3 families from Bakersfield and we are working with another gentleman right now that wants to have a bee farm here also from Bakersville. I guess I should mention that I'm a Realtor. Grayson is new and a good place to be. Snellville has a very strong school district with Brookwood. Dacula, Suwanee and Lawrenceville should also be in consideration for you. Loganville is also growing and your commute really isn't bad heading in that direction as long as you stay away from the 124. You can also take the 124 from Snellvlle to Lawrenceville and Suwanee and there's not that much construction on the road near there...I think.

Thank you for the information Homesource, I appreciate it. Do you have any information on Sugar Hill. Sugar Hill looks like an area I might want to look at. It is still in Gwinnett county, just not sure about the commute of 20 miles to get to work daily.

Default relocating

Hello everyone I really appreciate all of the advice and comments that all of you have given and i really would like for someeone to give me a honest opinion, I am a single mother of three who will be relocating from Chicago(the hood of Chi) and I am 100% fed up with our city's extremely high crime rate we had over 100 homicides in the past 2 months it is absolutely ridiculous!! but dont get me wrong there are some beautiful areas here, but in order to live in them you have to be middle class stat or rich!! no one is hiring here here and the companies that are are'nt paying enough to live comfortably. Can sombody please tell me which areas will be good communities for my boys 18,12,7? Please respond Thanks
