Good Morning everyone!

I am going to be a new graduate student at Georgia State University and will be moving in August. I just want to know where is a good location for most 20 something singles in Atlanta or neighboring cities. I'm just wondering where most stay. I'd rather be in an area with young adults that I could relate too.

Thanks

There are lots of apartments near GSU. A new streetcar line is being built thru GSU that has access to apartments in Sweet Auburn.
Budget?

I am moving with a friend so we want a 2 bed 2 bath that is between $900-1000. Closer to $900 would be ideal.

Gated is also a necessity.

How far are you willing to commute to hit that price point?

Use Padmapper or Trulia.com. As has been alluded to in previous messages, getting something close to GSU (midtown, etc) that is gated with 2B/2BA is probably not going to happen for 900 bucks.

20-30 minute drive is okay. Somewhere in the middle of Kennesaw (work area for roommate) and GSU for me. I've just read that a lot of places are more catered towards families so I'm wondering where the young adults live.

Roommate would like about a 30 minute drive to his work in Kennesaw. And I prefer closer to 20 minute drive but 30 is okay too. Very flexible with the drive.

Check out Vinings. There are a lot of 20-somethings in the apartment community there. My daughter attended Georgia State and lived there with a roomie. They rented a condo, 2 bedroom, in a beautiful complex. Her drive was not bad at all. This would be very close to Kennesaw too, within that 20-30 min. window. She loved living there!
