That's a good point as it is probably much more appropriate to say "long-term INTENTIONS" than it is to say "long-term plans".

Default Way to pay for BRT on Soutside

With the proposed Southside HOT Lane project, adding Bus Toll Lanes to the project would be a great way to have tolls cover transit fees, reduce congestion, and bring BRT to the southside.

Thanks for the link.

From what I understand and from what state officials have stated, the I-75 South project is supposedly not necessarily a High Occupancy Toll lane, but is a tolled express lane, meaning that unlike the toll lane projects on I-85 North in Gwinnett and I-75/I-575 North in Cobb and Cherokee counties, the toll lane on I-75 South in Henry County will supposedly levy tolls on all vehicles (except transit buses) regardless of whether the vehicle has only 1-2 occupants or 3 or more occupants.

Pass the cost of transit from the riders to the drivers?

Nah.

Make those transit riding moochers pay their fair share.

Totally agree. The only way we'll get fairness in the system is to require EVERYBODY to pay the true cost of transportation.

Glad y'all agree, time to get rid of all subsidies for highways, airports, and seaports. No more car driving moochers, or plane flying moochers, or sea-going moochers.

Hear hear. Let's account for the total cost of transportation: carbon pollution, non-carbon pollution (everything other than CO2 and CO), noise, property loss, etc. Yeah, I'm all in favor of that.

gtcorndog, raise gas taxes to about a buck a gallon and we'll talk. Until then, please spare us your right-wing propaganda.

The drivers would pay for part of the operation and riders would pay too. It's a way to bring frequent bus service to a congested corridor. Unlike current GRTA buses, these would run in both directions.

This traffic reminds me of traffic on 95 in Northern Virginia.
