Looks like a battle royale is shaping up.

The Cobb Tea party is not going to take this thing laying down. They have already shut down the county switchboard with phone calls of protest.

In the meantime, both the Atlanta city council and the Fulton commission are going to war to keep the Braves in Atlanta.

One thing you don't want to do in Cobb is mess with the Tea party.

I wouldn't say it is the Tea Party faction as much as it is the Libertarian wing. Blurred lines, yes, but still a distinction.

Isn't Cobb Country the GOP/Tea Party stronghold of the state?

Also, how about using some of the hotel/motel tax like we're doing with the Falcons? As I understand it, 39.3% goes to the Dome or its successor facility; 32.14% goes to promoting tourism, conventions, etc.; and 28.56% is unrestricted.
Because obviously the Falcons are more important then the Braves. I mean, look at the new Falcons stadium. That's world class right there.

If the Braves wind up staying, there better be some mixed-used development that is around the stadium. A new 2-3 story urban neighborhood can be built there with all of that land. You would be able to find bars, amenities, and residential units that naturally complete a neighborhood. Summerhill has a lot of potential and it can be revitalized.

Not only is Cobb County the traditional suburban GOP/Tea Party stronghold of the state of Georgia, but Cobb County has also had the reputation of being one of the leading traditional suburban GOP/Tea Party strongholds in the nation.

Funny how all these renderings never show the transit solution?
