I believe that in the end he made a decision that he thought was best for the taxpayers of this city. For that, I thank him. We haven't seen integrity in that office of that sort for a long time.

I agree, I actually am excited for what will replace turner field and all of those parking lots. I do feel the falcons deal was different and more important to keep since that stadium also hosts tons of other events and seems to have costs less for us tax payers and already had a vehicle for the income in the hotel motel tax.

At last something we can agree on.

Awwww

Yeah, I thought he played that right too. Last think I would want is to get into a bidding war with public money for a private for profit entity.

Love some of his comments today as well.

Quote:
“I’m as competitive as anybody else, but Cobb presented them a terrific offer. And I’m not going to play this Atlanta versus Cobb game. I believe in the region.
Good move. Glad to hear words like that. The region, specifically including Cobb, is going to have to work together to fix transportation. These are the right words to make that happen in the future.

Quote:
“Four hundred and fifty million dollars in public funding is a pretty good deal. We can’t spend money that liberally in the city of Atlanta. We are fiscal conservatives here….
HA!

Quote:
“The bottom line is, I think they got a terrific deal. Let’s make it about the deal they got. It’s one of the best deals in America. Sixty-five percent public funding. Atlanta did 20 percent public funding [for the Falcons stadium]….”
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I still don't want to forget too quickly though my serious objection to 200 mil in public money going to make money for the Falcons.

I think Lady's Man was being a bit funny. I don't think he took a swipe at Lovin.
