Hello, can you tell me whether Kennesaw Mountain High School is a good school for my daughter. She's 15 and we will arrive in Kennesou in May.

Yes, it's a good school.

A poster on this forum, neil0311, has children that attend the school. He can give you more details and insight.

PM me if you have any specific questions. My oldest daughter graduated from KMHS and my other two children are students there now. We like the school and I've seen it ranked as one of the top 20 high schools in Georgia, varying in the rankings depending on where you see it. Many of the popular school sites give it high marks.

My children have benefited from not only the traditional academics, but also the great music program. My youngest daughter (16 years old) has done some special things as a result of the music program at KMHS (that I won't go into here). My son (17 years old) graduates this year and will be going on to college. He has been challenged with Calculus and other AP programs. Athletics are big as well, so you have all the normal sports teams and cheerleading programs.

I definitely recommend the school. The faculty and administration don't seem to turnover that frequently, and they seem to care about the students. Like any high school, you have the usual drugs and other teen issues, but I don't think it's any worse than any middle class suburban school. My children feel safe and have no concerns about crime or drugs.
