I am staying in Marietta next month and would like to make sure its a safe area for kids. Also is there anything fun to do with kids while we are there? Thank you so much for your info!

You need to give an approximate address. The city of Marietta is quite different from the large area that is commonly referred to as Marietta(or carries a Marietta address). You could be next to a huge highway interchange or possibly in a quiet residential setting. Others can give you specifics if you narrow it down a bit.

Regardless, I don't know of a part of Marietta that is "unsafe" in the idea most people have of an unsafe area. Just as any part of Cobb County. There are areas with higher crime, but nothing truly unsafe.

Franklin is not the best part of Marietta, but s/b fine. Generally is nicer on the other side of HWY 75, away from HWY 41 and Roswell Street.

Franklin is probably worst part of Marietta, but that's an ok part of Franklin Rd if you had to pick. The low income apartment area is North of there. This part is mostly commercial. I take my family to the Cracker Barrel right there sometimes.

I think you should be fine, but I wouldn't leave valuables in car, and I would just try to get to in your room each day before it's super-late just since you never know.

Anyone knows whether they have torn down the apartments along Franklin yet? I believe that passed referendum, right?
