“Phase Two is now fully funded,” said Meghan Injaychock, landscape architect and urban planner of the Eastside expansion. “Construction [for Phase Two] will begin after Phase One is complete next month.”
Construction of Phase Two is expected to last about six to eight months. The first phase of the Beltline’s Eastside Trail expansion began in 2016, taking the trail from Irwin Street to Kirkwood Avenue. This has added over one mile to the Beltline’s existing shared-use trail. The second phase is expected to reach Memorial Drive and will also replace the bridge at Fulton Terrace.

Northwest would be the final section of trail, then, and at some point BeltLine Transit and Streetcars are starting to be installed during all this.

Exciting times!

I'm just waiting for any news on the NW Beltline to come out.

Any guesstimates when any type of movement would begin from those who have kept up with the project over the years? I know there is still land to be purchased.

People losing their sh$t on Next Door today over the paint job of the former H Harper Station restaurant on the Beltline Eastside extension trail.

The old train station has had its original (I presume) brick exterior completely painted white by its new owners....the folks that also own Ladybird.

Rightfully so. It's absolutely disgraceful what the Ladybird folks have done to this building. The owner of this place went before the Reynoldstown neighborhood group to seek approval for his plan, but he never mentioned anything about changing the exterior of the building. This business will not have the financial support of Cabbagetown or Reynoldstown.

Ladybird sucks anyway, it's a hangout spot for OTPers on the BeltLine.

Reynoldstown, or at least the neighborhood group, is really showing its ass right now on social media RE: Golden Eagle/Muchacho. Dozens of people are leaving 1-star reviews on its Facebook page and some are complaining that its only for tourists on segways and not for "locals," which apparently even excludes people moving into new apartments or condos in the area. This neighborhood is starting to jump the shark.

I'm looking forward to the tacos; don't really give a damn what color the bricks are. Let Yoyo Ferro paint it.

This is great; I expected it to take them a lot longer to fund the extension to Memorial. This schedule has them on track to finish it around the start of next year.

Though people in the same Facebook group are complaining about losing the "historic" bridge over Mauldin, so...

It's a ridiculous amount of hyper-micro management, that's for sure.
