Seems Mr Lee really wants BRT in Cobb. Perhaps one day the county will have a light rail running from Cumberland/Galleria out to KSU.

He's giving his constituents the chance to vote on approving incurring massive debt to help fund a resource not everyone may want? Novel concept for Tim Lee.

$100M will barely put a dent in the cost of BRT in the corridor.

BRT probably has a lot less kick backs to motivate rapid constituent free approval.

But hey, at least a move in what may be the right direction.

Perhaps they could build 1.3 miles of streetcar with that money. That seems like a prudent use of transportation funds.

I'd be fine with this if it was grade-separated. I'm sure it won't be; it will probably end up like MARTA's laughable "attempt" at BRT on Memorial Drive a few years back.

Its 2.7 miles of track, 11 stations, streetscapign improvements, 4 modern streetcars, and a VMF for $100M. 1.3 miles would be a single track, while this project is a 2.7 mile loop of one-way track.

It is essentially a 1.3 mile route.

Spin it however you want, it doesn't change that the reach is limited and is projected to have just 140 riders per hour during operating hours. $100 million for 140 riders per hour. That is pathetic.

I am okay with Cobb doing BRT. You get a lot of bang for your buck.
