You beat me too this threas.I just moved into the house my family has owned since the late 80"s in Rez.
I had an Airbnb guest from California who is Vietnamese.I directed him there for food and he LOVE the area.Hw was quite surprised how diverse it was as I was.

Buford Hwy was my first thought of the area.I mean you got Thai, Bietamese, Mexican, African etc .If that does not remind you of Buford Hwy at least a little then you are crazy.

Jonesboro Road in Forest Park/ Lake City/ Morrow have long had many Hispanic and Asian businesses. Less congested, but really along the same lines.

The Jonesboro Road area is definitely another Buford Hwy. Partly due to the large Hispanic population in Forest Park and Asians in Morrow/Lake City. There are actually some wonderful ethnic restaurants and shops in the area. Check it out!

I agree, My family and I eat all up and down this stretch. Mostly on the Morrow side though. The Lake City Farmers Market is legit for Vietnamese grocery shopping. Much better than the little store in the Lake Harbin plaza and slightly better than the store on the left heading toward Forest Park. That said, I think the little spot on the other end of the Lake Harbin plaza is better than VN Pho, as far as restaurants go. Jerk Palace location is a good Jamaican spot too. On the other end by Mt. Zion This Is It! is good too. We recently tried the new ramen spot Hyunh Ky. Its cool for what it is, but ramen is kind of unsatisfying when compared to pho or Bun Bo Hue. Anybody check out the little soul food spot in the corner across from Allan Vigil?

Whats good in the Forest Park Mexican section? I have never stopped anywhere in that strip. My wife doesn't like Mexican so we tend to go for other options. I like it though, I gotta make a solo mission. Also, Rocky's is pretty good for local pizza, which is definitely a weak point overall. I just found out about a real pizza place in Decatur I need to get to that claims to have real New England Greek style pizza. I'll believe it when I taste it and see it.

It would be good if there were just a couple of decent bars. I actually used to NFL at Skyboxx last season they had NFL Sunday Ticket, etc. but it changed ownership and really went downhill. I went there three weeks straight at the start of the season, every week their talking about they were waiting on their installation of DIRECTV or some nonsense. They lost a ton of business on me there, ended up taking my formidable gameday tab to the U Bar.

Also, someone tell me what is the City Cafe Diner with all its multicolored lights etc?
