If those same people are on the board they'll be right back in the same position again.

I can't imagine why anyone would go to an unaccredited school in bankruptcy. There's really no reason for them to continue but momentum.
When they were first in trouble, an article in AJC discussed that many of the students were juniors and seniors so they hoped, they would get their accreditation back by graduation time so they wouldn't have to start over from scratch at a new university.

Now the question is whether they get the money instead of Morris Brown or if they get the property back from Atlanta. They probably could insist on specific performance (ie the land).

Clark Atlanta doesn't have a massive endowment. The city has been supporting a dead school against one still alive but with some struggles.

Why in the hell would Spelman or Morehouse agree to that? Spelman is generally ranked the #1 HBCU in the country and both of them are better than Clark academically.

Their credit rating is probably shot to hell though. People aren't likely to have much faith in the school as it has had a history of financial problems. If it remains financially responsible, it'll just limp along, doling out specious degrees.

Totally agree and Clark Atlanta University would make a much better merger partner and am surprised it hasn't happen or at least discussed, as a viable option. Morris Brown imho has always been a laggard and just needs to be put out of it's misery. Don't think it will be missed, except by the alumni, and to me it makes more sense to have fewer, but financially and academically stronger HBCU's going forward.

I am a graduate of an HBCU, Hampton University, and have felt this way for a long time.
