Looking at the development, I don't know why Reynoldstown would want its name on it.

It's a stupid headline. There's no need to name it after Reynoldstown, but it's a slap in Reynoldstown's face to name it after a different (richer, whiter) neighborhood.

Why does anyone care?

What if they called it Sausalito, Greenwich South or Left Bank on Moreland? Would people be upset then?

And has midtown always been midtown? Or did they start calling it that to identify with midtown New York City?

People care because putting a development in one neighborhood and naming it after a different neighborhood suggests that the actual neighborhood it's in is somehow not worthy or there's something wrong with Reynoldstown.

A lot of people have been putting in a lot of work for a lot of years to make Reynoldstown a desirable place to live. Can you think of any reason why those people shouldn't care?

Anyone remember the "Midtown" Best Buy?

You know, the one across the street from this Reynoldstown development?

Well, I'm glad that it looks like the neighborhood is getting what it wants. If it were my neigborhood, it would probably bother me a little too. But, I would just chalk it up to it being "a real-estatey" thing to do, and let it go. So, you win--good for you!
