NO WAY!!!! There was 23 shots on goal by Atlanta, with 8 shots on target and 12 shots off-target. We won duels and tackles over Columbus, and our passing accuracy was 81%. A hard-fought game that ends up 0-0, goes through another 30 minutes of overtimes, and THEN goes to PKs is NOT a "choke". At this level of soccer, that is extremely wearing. We had 7 games in September. Columbus, on the other hand, had only 4, sensibly spaced a week apart.
It was a fantastically fun season, and even though it didn't go any further, I doubt it has dimmed the fans enthusiasm. Let's face it, if we had won just ONE more game during the regular season, we wouldn't have been in the knock-out round. (What's with the losses to DC United over and over again? The worst team in the Eastern Conference?)
Can't wait for next season!!
