Seems like a lot of people (not all, but a lot) cause their own misery with this... I see the posts all the time on here.. I accepted a job in Midtown, but want to live in Acworth because its awesome there... Go ahead, enjoy that commute.

I often work from home but commute in about twice a week. It's about 12-15 minutes by car. I stick to the surface streets and try to avoid peak hours.

45 minutes from Buford to Alpharetta, this being on an off shift ( I work 1-10pm so I leave Buford at noon )

45 minutes to go ~15 miles is ridiculous personally.

2 minutes to my office in the basement. Longer if I forget to set the coffee pot the night before. Woo hoo!

I often Joke I have the world's shortest and longest commutes.

On one hand there is my desk in the other room that I'm at half the time.

On the other hand I can fly half way around the world and my 'commute' could be up to 1.5 days, but once I'm on-site my commute usually consists of a less than 5 minute walk.

Pretty much the same for me, except add at least 15 minutes to the train commute due to a shuttle transfer.

myself: Brookhaven to Alpharetta
wife: Brookhaven to Norcross

Fortunately both are reverse commutes, though I sometimes hit traffic in the evening.

I wouldn't want to take a job that had more than a 35-40 min commute.
