The Top 10 safest cities, according to Backgroundcheck.org:
  1. Peachtree City
  2. Acworth
  3. Grovetown
  4. Alpharetta
  5. Canton
  6. Kennesaw
  7. Duluth
  8. Pooler
  9. Suwanee
  10. Loganville
How the cities were selected:
The list was compiled based on FBI violent crime stats and propriety BackgroundChecks.org research data. Rates are normalized per 100,000 residents with the state average being 377 for violent crime and 3,281 for property crime. This is calculated by taking (# of crimes/population) * 100,000.

Not really a surprise except wasn't Johns Creek #1 just a year or two ago? Did they have one random string of crime that made them drop out?

I have never had a reason to visit any of them, but good for them.

If you've ever been down to Savannah on I-16, you've driven through Pooler. It's a suburb.

I'm just surprised it's on this list since it's adjacent to one of the most dangerous cities in Georgia.

Just one reason these areas continue to attract families en masse.

Great for PTC, but they probably didn't include John's Creek, Milton, or Tyrone in their calculations. Those 3 cities are usually in the top 10.

These "10 safest" aren't cities but cookie-cutter Georgia suburbs (and that goes for the "20 safest cities" as well). These places shouldn't be anything but safe. Am surprised Vidalia is actually the most dangerous Georgia "city" at number 100, outdoing Atlanta and the second-tier cities. Is it crystal meth? Or is Vidalia more economically depressed than most towns in the state?

Wow, what a lopsided, unsubstantiated, brazen statement! Sounds like you don't care for (or you have ill feelings for) 'safe' cities. Then what's the criterion you have for the best places to live?
