The police department is in an office complex.
Yeah, it's weird...but they somehow manage to keep Johns Creek one of the safest cities in Georgia.

Maybe DeKalb should move it's police department out of that jail compound and into an office complex.

It's a city without a soul. That's one reason we left. Traffic was another.

We have been feeling the same way about Suwanee lately. As our kids get older we find that there is something sanitized and empty about the area where we have lived for almost 15 years. Not sure what we are going to do, and we are probably stuck here until the kids graduate, but we probably won't be in Suwanee or any of the north suburbs after they are out of school.

But as you noted, it has a wealthy population. So I would imagine that when they do decide to build a downtown area, it will be pretty good.
A wealthy population doesn't mean much. In fact, it means it is likely mostly older families with young kids, so the downtown will be geared towards those demographics...aka, boring.

And Suwanee has got more going for it than John's Creek.

But don't give up on all the northern 'burbs. Some of them have vibrant town centers and what I would call decent community.

Hmmm---I guess there could be a lot of vibrators in Suwanee----with the per capita income, they can certainly afford their share of state-of-the-art "adult toys!"

Nope, nothing wrong with Suwanee. We just find that the swim/tennis, neighborhood clubhouse, golf shirt wearing, kids on the swim team and competition cheerleading lifestyle doesn't resonate with us any more.
