Whats the wealthiest predominantly black area in or near Atlanta? Fairburn? Redan? I'm talking about areas that can compare to Fort Washington Maryland.

Well i'm from Cobb county so don't know much about the eastern suburbs but 30331 will be your best guess west of Atlanta.

Collier Heights is wealthy, I believe?

Definitely predominantly black.

Has the famous home, 714 Shorter Terrace.

It's in 30318 zip, which is a really mixed bag zip code.

No.Historic and once was the first neighborhood built for middle to upper class blacks in America but hardly upscale today.

The Collier Heights heyday ended with integration: Blacks could now live where ever they could afford. That said, there are many lovely streets and impressive homes still in the Collier Heights. I knew several people that lived there, but the community was truly an island in a rather desolate sea. My friends complained about the lack of even basic amenities (such as a decent grocery store) They always said, "Only liquor stores and Family Dollars." They really had to leave the community to buy anything!
