Georgia State buys Turner Field, will convert it for football

Looks like GSU is making that move toward "big time" football. With only an initial capacity of 26,000 I think it is a reasonable goal to fill the stadium. And the retail/residential development slated to be built around hopefully will generate connectivity between the stadium and the downtown campus.

Now all they need are some fans to put in it.

Good, I'm glad that stadium was reused somehow. I'm glad to hear Turner will be reused, as the rumors I had been hearing for a while about its possible demolition since I first heard about the construction of what'll become Suntrust Field as of next year were making me sad. It's still weird for me to think Georgia Dome will be gone soon, though the new Falcons stadium does sound intriguing to me.

Tech can't even fill their place, I doubt GSU will be able to fill this one.

I think the baseball stadium is impressive. I'm in Surfside, SC right now the home of Coastal Carolina; they won the World Series for college baseball. I can see GSU doing that one day and filling the stadium.
