who were against the Braves moving to Cobb. Do you have a different outlook on this move now with how nice this development will look and all the new businesses and revenue that will come to Cobb once SP opens in a few months? This is basically be a Cobb County version of Avalon or Atlantic Station with a baseball stadium

I only moved to Cobb a year ago, and I'm about a mile or 2 away from the stadium.

Looking forward to the restaurants. But not the evening traffic on game nights (though if you think about it, that's probably only about 60 or so a year), and I wish Cobb would join MARTA.

As infrequently as I go to the games, being close to it doesn't really matter that much.

I'm hoping for the stadium to continue to spur a lot of growth for the area, which I hope will increase my home value.

It was how it happened that almost everyone took exception to, not so much the development itself... although dealing with traffic gridlock once everything is up and running may cause some (at least initially) to curse the entire endeavor.

The Elephant In The Room as far as all this euphoria over all this new development goes.

Fubar said it, it was about how it went down, with no vote. But I've only been here a little over a year. Funny how my property tax bill went up $1k....enjoyed voting Lee out.

The battery is a solid 20-25 minutes from my house but looking forward to going to some games and checking it all out. I think the traffic issue is getting way overplayed.

Also looking forward to the Cobb haters cringing at the positive reviews once it's open. I spent a decade ITP so I'm not new to the OTP vs ITP thing, but y'all are ridiculous. Provincial nonsense, mostly from people who live in a single family house with a yard, and drive to suburban style shopping plazas for groceries, stupid hipster clothes, etc.

I live in the DC area and plan on moving to Cobb County next month. How do you guys like it? My husband and I plan on renting for a year more than likely in Mableton or Austell to save up and purchase in Smyrna. Do you think the cost of housing will go up in 2018 and when is the stadium and Suntrust Park suppose to open?

Prices will continue to rise unless we hit another bubble. I would jump in SMyrna while you can... don't do Mableton/Austell.

This was almost a civil discussion. Way to go.

Huh? I'm totally confused--what are you trying to say--who's ridiculous? I've heard both negative and positive thoughts from both ITP and OTP folks about the stadium deal. And is it really SFH suburban people who buy "stupid hipster clothes"? Most people parking at strip malls to buy groceries are not wearing hipster clothes. And why would it be stupid if they did? I'm totally at a loss. Most of ITP Atlanta is single family houses with yards. I fault no one for wanting to drive for groceries, since walking to the grocery store is pretty much impossible for most in Atlanta, due to old age, distance, hills, kids, and a hundred different reasons. And what does that have to do with anyone's opinion about the stadium?
