Because we were there 2-3 times per week having fun and living in the moment. It wasn't a "special event," so we were not worrying about taking pictures (unless someone just so happened to have a camera on them). I didn't ever take pictures at fraternity parties in college either, so there's not much documentation of those in the late 80s/early 90s (thank God).

Honey, the ones I did have were destroyed long ago.
If any of my daughters, grandchildren or, for that matter, my current husband ever got their hands on 'em, I'd be screwed.

Definitely similar to Bourbon St and Khao San Rd. (for anyone who's been to Bangkok).

So if Crescent is dead now too, which areas do people actually club? EAV is more laid back, and Castleberry Hill is more of a bar/lounge scene than clubbing.
Buckhead is starting to come back, but still nothing like the old Buckhead Village, and not really clubs but more bars like the Buckhead Saloon. Down the street (on Roswell Rd) you have quite a few bars you can hop to, and there's also Hole in the Wall and Moondogs not too for away. That area is mainly for the "just graduated UGA" crowd, a little too young for my taste. Over by Peachtree and Piedmont you have a few clubs, like Havana, Rose Bar, and Whiskey Mistress.

Awww...that’s sad! I quite enjoy hearing and seeing house types of things, even from my wife!

- Edgewood needs some new venues. About tired of the same spots they have. They have at least 6 abandoned buildings that could be bars/clubs. I guess its good its like it is because you know its not a good thing for an area to get toooooooo popular

- Downtown around Hooters has a couple of buildings that could be good bars/clubs. There is a 3 story space between Hooters and this clothing store. It would be perfect for a bar/etc. There is also this space across from the Hard Rock Cafe above that clothing store. It used to be called Level 3 back in the day and that is available to lease. That would be a perfect nightlife with two huge floors. Both could strictly cater to the tourist crowd.

- Midtown is about to be back really popping again in about 4 months. You know that club space on Dewberry AKA Do Nothing property that used to be Vanquish/Reign? Well this LA club owner about to open 3 clubs in that space. I think it will mostly cater to the Top 40 crowd but thats cool. The only spot in Midtown for that crowd now is Opera on certain nights

- Excited to see how the Beltline grow into a nightlife district once they open those new spaces at those apartments off Dekalb/Edgewood Ave

Overall Im satisfied with the ATL nightlife. Heck its only of the reasons I love staying here. I guess is better to have more smaller districts instead of smaller districts plus a huge out of control district.

If you're truly having fun when you're partying, you're probably not concerning yourself with a camera.

People recorded Freaknik because they were hoping to capture nudity.

Or as we now know, sexual assaults.

I know I'm a old, crusty Gen Xer, but has Atlanta lost its fun with the gentrification, or has fun been redefined? There's a brewery in West End now, and while that's helping revitalize a neighborhood, did we really need another one? And are the residents of the neighborhood really patronizing the pub, or is this an outpost of the EAV scene?
Well written, I wish I could see Atlanta in its "hey-day" buckhead era. All of my friends are older than me for the most part and always black out in joy when describing Buckhead before it got shut down. They all blame Ray Lewis too.

I've been to Sound Table a few times.

It's nothing short of completely laughable that anyone would actually consider this a reasonable club.
