We are planning to relocate to Kennesaw and thinking about Canterbury Estates by Beazer. Any input on quality of homes or community?

Friends of ours have a home there. It is beautiful. They are very happy with it.

It's a Beazer community and I would be VERY leery with all the trouble Beazer is going through. Birshire Woods is another community in Powder Springs and people have lost $100,000 in their home value. I know someone who purchased a Vanderbilt in Oct. for 525,000 with an unfinished basement. They started the building process last March. The same plan with a finished basement went for 476,000 with was built and closed during the respective months. People who bought for 580,000 now are listing their homes at 485,000 1-2 years later.

Furthermore, Birskshire is a better looking community than Canterbury which has too many power lines. Canterbury does have swim where Birshire doesn't have any community amenities.

That's just my two cents. If you really love it, I suggest you keep an eye on the community and purchase towards the end of the year. Prices will drop further.

LahdeeDahdee is right about the house values going down. A couple of years ago homes in Canterbury were starting in the mid 400s. Now they are advertised as starting in the 330s.

Actually it was only a few months ago when they were advertised in the 400's.

WOW! So it happened just recently. Last month was the first time I had been to my friends home in over a year. I was very surprised by the price drop.

I don't think so.

In my opinion, the new Canterbury is a nice new neighborhood...if we're all talking about the same one (off of Canton Road in western East Cobb).

But, there is a new neighborhood called Canterbury getting built off of Canton Road...most (not all) of that area of western East Cobb has a Kennesaw address.

Which part of Kennesaw are you talking about?
