Yep, hopefully they can adjust the project list / funding amounts to expect regional partnerships to help with Clifton Corridor so that way they can add transit onto the Beltline down to Grant Park and elsewhere in the city.

Changes like that and being smart with the money mean more ridership for Clifton Corridor too by expanding the transit network it is connected to.

I wouldn't expect any funding partnerships from The ATL or State of Georgia. Why not redirect funding from the duplicate Campbellton LRT to Southside BeltLine LRT?

Because of politics.

That is exactly why it is so important to make sure we get projects like Beltline transit loop covered by this MoreMARTA funding. The Beltline has already tapped all it's realistic funding options. Where as the Clifton Corridor could secure future funds from DeKalb, Emory, or it's own TAD.

It is going to help the suburban folks, and the institutions involved, more than anybody. People will be helped, just not many COA folks.

BeltLine still has the possibility of a Transportation Improvement District.
People keep bringing Emory funding transit, and I think it's a good idea, but can they even fund transit projects from their endowment?

Do they? According to Wikipedia "TIDs or TDDs are authorized in Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, and Virginia." So it sounds like it will at best take state legislature involvement. Seems unlikely especially since the area already has a TAD drawing on the property taxes as this MoreMARTA drawing on sales taxes.

A TAD for the Clifton Corridor seems to make a lot more sense.

Employment is overwhelmingly to the east. And most of the C of A dense areas are not along the beltline. They're near Briarcliff. Those people wouldn't use it.

The map shows what the first EIS said. Employment is from the east. Connecting to the Beltline is of little benefit.

On a separate note-Emory does run a bus service. I don't understand why connecting to their Clairmont campus remote parking/student housing and the VA hospital has been mostly ignored. Connecting to remote parking in the Texas Medical Center is one of the reasons the Houston rail line has been so well used.

Exactly. From Emory-Clairmont, curve that line towards North Druid Hills Road and Northlake, and then make it heavy rail or light metro.

Why not do both and make it Light Rail? That way we create more transit connections?
