Atlanta has no problem drawing business. There will be plenty others. I'm just not all on the hype train for HQ2 like some here. Plus, it's not as if that's the ONLY thing that can be put there that can spawn money.

I was commenting on our idea if HQ2 does not benefit you directly and adds more traffic you are not in favor of it. It just seems like a very selfish way of viewing economic developments.

I've clearly followed it more closely than you. You, and several others, continue to ignore all of the stories about the Gulch that predate Amazon ever announcing a competition for HQ2.

During a Nov. 1 press conference, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Atlanta Hawks principal owner, Tony Ressler, expressed interest in developing beyond the stadium.

Further discussion of the same project continued through June 2017.

Amazon didn't announce and publish their RFP for HQ2 until September 2017.

Yes, CIM has made requests for a potential project that would work for HQ2, but no, their interest in the Gulch did not originate with HQ2 and most certainly does not rely on HQ2.

Do not get your hopes up by trying to read these tea leaves as some suggestion that ATL has been told anything at all. ATL is preparing for a possible HQ2. It would guarantee a losing bid if it didn't. But y'all are reading way too much into the Gulch sale.

EDIT TO ADD:
Found another even earlier reference (October 26, 2015) to a project "around Philips" that would be $500 million to $1 billion. http://business.blog.myajc.com/2015/...f-development/
