I always wondered if they lied about actually selling the houses on that show on HGTV and now I have proof. Last night's episode was set in a house about a mile from me that has been on the market for a year and is still sitting there! My wife and I were waiting on the end to see if they said something like "we've had a lot of interested parties" but instead the couple were all giddy and said "we sold the house and hope the new buyers really enjoy it!" It's actually a really nice house in an awesome neighborhood, but it sits right next to some huge power plant! Guess you can't paint that.

Thats crazy. I have seen plenty where they end with" They are expecting an offer any day now" I can't believe these shows still lie, after the Atlanta Flip This House scandal.

I guess it's possible that a contract was drawn up and they considered that a 'sale'...of course, anything could happen after that.

What Atlanta, Flip This House scandal? I always wondered how these people get "multiple offers" or sell "above asking price" in this terrible market! I hate cheats and liars.

Search engines are our friends. Took me 10 seconds to find this:

You should go to the HGTV web site and post this and use a timer to see how long it takes them to remove it. Being a weekend though, the webbies that work for them might be on weekend breaks so maybe some folks will get a chance to read it.

Thanks, Neil. What's a search engine, and where can I buy one?

@sobukev

A 'search engine' is an internet application that allows you to search for information. Examples are Google and AltaVista.

You can find just about anything you are seeking by using either of those. I prefer Google.

1. Type in Google in your address bar.
2. Underneath the large 'Google' icon you will see a box.
3. Type in 'Flip this house scandal' and then click the little box that says 'google search'.
4. A series of results will appear and you can click yourself silly from there.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Default TV Casting

In regards to the sale of the home (on HGTV in Atlanta)- the homeowners had been (strongly) informed that their house was going to be purchased. They were under the impression that it had sold! Several weeks before the show was to air, the interested parties had not made their final decision and were wavering. The show was already finalized and edited (just weeks before air). Too late to be pulled. As of today- they are still on hold with the interested party.

if anyone (buyer/realtor) is interested in having their home featured on the show please contact Moderartor cut: No advertising, please. Use DM and refer to CD TOS

Thank you!
