Spiller Yards is the next generation of baseball in an urban experience that happens 365 days a year. City life is already good. Game days just make it even better. The 38,000-seat stadium blends the very best of its location on Ponce de Leon Avenue: from the food hall of Ponce City Market to the slopes of the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail. The 2 million square-foot mixed use stadium will include a variety of fine dining options, new residential units, and plenty of after-game entertainment. Ever wanted to walk or take a train to a baseball game in Atlanta? We’re doubling-down on the future construction of transit. You won’t find a parking spot on-site.

The Atlanta Braves have returned to their winning ways and catcher Brian McCann has returned to the team, so it’s only fitting modcut
“The first day of April is a great day for baseball.”

Spiller Park is the historic name of the stadium.

But maybe they can get a sponsorship from other dying Atlanta companies like SunTrust.

I heard that it will be served by a high-speed Maglev train that will run on the Beltline corridor and connect to a new network of personal train pods, which is being funded by a new $10 per person toll on Beltline walkers and bikers.

Ha, no. Spiller Park actually had no parking (like Wrigley and Fenway) and was served by dozens of privately operated rail transit lines that cost a dime and served all corners of the metro including Stone Mountain and Marietta.

Meanwhile we are spending $6.2B tax dollars to add yet more lanes to I285 and GA400 that will still be gridlocked afterwards.

One of these real life solutions seems better than the other...

Can they fix the 10th/Virginia/Monroe intersection while they're at it? Why stop with Home Depot? Tear down Trader Joe's too.
