I'm highly considering moving to Senioa, GA, which is about an hour's drive from Atlanta, when I'm 18. I really need to know more about that area and the Atlanta area. So, what's it like, and what are some pros and cons?

Are you relocating for a job? Do you have a housing budget in mind? Are schools a factor?

Hey there!

Your question is a bit open ended. I've not been to Senioa, but it strikes me as a bit of a mismatch for the average 18 year old? Unless you have a more specific reason (like a job) for wanting to be there.

Atlanta Pros:
Green
Opportunity
great 4 season climate
close to mountains & oceans
great airport
affordable given the size

Cons:
crazy roads
lack of progress on public transportation
slow service
Lack of great architecture
Lack of great, top notch museums for a city its size
Park system and sidewalks/infrastructure are a bit lacking

Overall, it's a great place. Where are you moving from, as that might determine how to interpret the city

Yeah...Senoia is a cute little town and I have some friends who live there and love it. But, is there a reason you want to move there as an 18 year old? It's a much more family-oriented area. It doesn't have a lot of stuff going on. It doesn't seem like there would be much of anything to do. That may be right up your alley, but let us know.

I live near Senoia and it's a very nice, safe, small town/exurb adjacent to the southend of Peachtree City.

Senoia is home to a lot young families because of the availability of affordable new construction and close proximity to Peachtree City. Everyone in Senoia shops, dines, and enrolls their kids in recreational sports in Peachtree City.

With the growth of the film industry, Senoia's once dying downtown is vibrant and better than ever. There are a number of new shops and restaurants. It's also the used as the set for the tv show, "The Walking Dead". There are tons of TWD fans in downtown every weekend, and there is even a Walking Dead store.

As for an 18 year old, it may not be the best fit if you're looking for a happening nightlife.
