Every scooter rider I've ever seen always rode with a golden halo over his head. Not once did I ever see one pull out infront of a car, or a truck, or a bus...not once did I ever see one run through a stop light or blow through a stop sign. They're all nothing but law and rule abiding citizens... Shame on those cars! We need to sweep up every car in sight so they can live happily ever after.

I don't think a curfew makes sense at all. But if we are going to do one for "safety" it should be targeted at drivers since that is the source of the death and danger.

Cars should not be the "lifeblood of our metro". If that change is "demonization" to you then fine. But the most other major world cities are transitioning to alternatives to cars. Atlanta may lag them, but it will follow. 90%+ car trips is not sustainable.

It makes a valid point.

In my opinion most drivers and scooterists try to be safe but it never hurts to have a reminder.

I say we leave unicycles and pogo-sticks as the only legal option after 9pm!

There is a solution to address the actual cause of so much death on our streets!

When I first saw this I thought it was from The Onion. This will hurt nightlife. I think it would be a bad idea not to mention all the people who work the graveyard shift. How would they get to work? Marta stops running before one in the morning. Uber/Lyft would be banned too. Are you going to offer your back as a ride?

Cars are the source of the death. Pedestrians, bikes, and utility poles also lack bright lights. Yet cars keep running into them.

Don't think people seriously expect a night time ban on cars to happen. Especially with this mayor. But this is to point out how ridiculous it is to blame and restrict scooters for the carnage caused by cars.

Though I think drivers need to be more mindful of pedestrians, I have seen many driving far too fast on those scooters. I myself got ran over by one.

The cars are going even faster. And if you get run over by one of those you are a lot less likely to tell the tale. That is why the focus should be more on them. But I do think things like speed limits should apply to both drivers and scooters. Slow them all down.
