Chick-fil-A Inc. will move 250 corporate jobs into a new $200 million office tower next to the Atlanta Beltline.

The Atlanta-based restaurant chain famous for its chicken sandwiches will lease 40,000 square feet on the sixth floor of 725 Ponce, a new 12-story building along the Eastside Trail.

Beltline or not, still wont be anywhere near as nice as their campus on Buffington. As someone that's been there, if you ever have an opportunity to tour the campus, take it. They feed all of their employees with a buffet daily for free and the food is excellent.

This building seems to be opening at full occupancy. I think the second tower closer to Ponce is coming sooner than later.

Their next development is the huge mixed-use complex just south of Old Fourth Ward Park on the old Georgia Power lot. It's time for trains on the BeltLine now.

Yeah, what a mess that is - and they've leased hundreds of thousands of square feet around town.

I know McKinsey & Co. and Blackrock took a lot of space at 725 Ponce as well.

So the next status symbol will not be a location you own (it will be viewed as a liability) but instead premium office space rented for each meeting you have?

This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Chick-Fil-A's College Park headquarters location is a massive problem for them. I've had recruiters call me about their tech teams and the first question they ask is if the location is too inconvenient. They should begin a longer term transition to northern ITP / Alpharetta / Buckhead as fast as possible.

They are remodeling their current campus so that's most likely not happening. Establishing and growing a second location in Atlanta is more likely.
