I am considering purchasing a new construction home in Del Webb Chateau Elan in Braselton/Hoschton. Can anyone please share their experiences about the purchasing and construction processes of their home? Did the construction go smoothly with few warranty repairs? Is the construction good quality? Are the sales people helpful and knowledgeable? Have there been any problems with flooding? Are there any problems with crime?

On another subject, has the HOA permitted anyone to put a steel security door on their front door? Do they have to approve window film or types of window blinds/plantation shutters?

If you would rather direct message me, please do. Thank you for any advice you can give.

If I'm not mistaken, Del Webb [and pretty much everything else along that stretch of Friendship Rd] was built by John Wieland Homes. While I don't have personal experience with them, they generally have a top-notch reputation for construction quality.

I have talked to a lot of people over the years who live in the Del Webb community that is already built across the street from there. I have never heard anything bad about the development, and everyone who lives there seems to love it. Also, I can’t imagine that there is very much crime in that area.

I think in general Del Webb does build a good home, but it all depends on the location and the local building supervisor. I have heard some horror stories about Del Webb new home construction in other locations. Every location is unique. That's why I would really love to hear from the locals who have purchased one of these homes in Chateau Elan.

I have a friend who lives at the first Del Webb in Hoschton. No crime. She's very happy with it. Had some upgrades put in, which went well. No problems with the construction (her home or neighbors). There are online reviews about Pulte construction---some seem bad, but of course it's the more disgruntled people who are likely to post, not the majority who have no problems.
