Amen.

This is a ban, not a designated area. And they are discriminating against a certain type of store, not all retail.

That happens sometimes (liquor stores, adult novelty stores, etc). Not sure why you're acting as though it's so unprecedented.

I'm guessing there's an issue with the Political makeup of the County Commission. It certainly can't be that DeKalb is 'underserved' by these predatory stores, we are awash in them at this point.

Do they allow for a Bloomingdales and Macy's but not a JC Penney or Sears? Except for a few resort towns trying to keep out national chains, it is pretty unprecedented. Porn and liquor are totally different.

It's really not. You're making a mountain out of a molehill.

You're just being blind because you don't like dollar stores.

I don't like them either, but I believe in freedom.

Are you seriously portraying those of us in favor of the County standing up to this over saturation of being anti-freedom? Really? Reinging in businesses that are cannibalizing retail and creating unhealthy food deserts is a noble cause, whether you agree with it or not. This isn't Harris County, Texas. Predatory Corporate interests run amok get pushback here.
