I know Atlanta is a lot different from 10 years ago since a moved. But being away from family is making me want to come back. I use to live in Smyrna but don't know if that area has change much. Any suggestions on where to move? I work from home so commute is not an issue. Thanks in advance

Where you move likely may depend largely upon what your budget for housing will be.

Smyrna has changed quite a bit over the past decade, with the city becoming an inner-suburban community that seems to be increasingly desirable with well-paid young professionals.

The increased desirability amongst young professionals with well-paying jobs seems to have made the real market noticeably more competitive in Smyrna than in the past.

The construction and opening of Truist Park Major League Baseball stadium and the adjoining Battery mixed-use development also seems to have contributed to the increased competitiveness of the real estate market in the Smyrna area.

If the Smyrna housing market turns out to be too competitive for you, you could always check in less competitive nearby areas like Mableton, Austell, Powder Springs and the less expensive parts of Marietta.

Unfortunately that is one thing that has changed a lot over the last 10 years. 250k got you a lot more in 2010/2011. I think Smyrna has only gotten better but that also means more expensive. But you could probably find something nearby in your budget.

At $250,000 in Smyrna you area looking at Townhome/Condo.

Location Location Location - there are still options available but not the most desirable locations in Smyrna.

Options for affordable homes are going to take you north towards Woodstock or West Cobb towards Powder Springs
