Hi all...

There is a possiblity of my family relocating to the East Cobb County area by the summer. Any suggestions of areas (especially with great schools!) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much,
Nat

When we considered moving to East Cobb, we tried to keep our search within the Lassiter, Pope and Walton High School areas. Those areas seemed to have the best schools. Definitely check out that website that apatrice posted; it's an excellent research tool.

Can you give us a general price range and maybe what neighborhood ammenities you might desire? Do you need swim/tennis, golf, near certain types of shopping, etc.?

East Cobb is a beautiful part of Georgia! The best schools in my opinoin are Walton (1st), Pope (2nd) and Lassiter (3rd). I would also rank housing values and resalability in this range as well. New construction is available in all three areas, but starts in the low 400's and the sky is the limit! You will find A LOT of older contemporary homes situated on decent sizes lots as well as traditional homes. The traditional homes typically sell for more, but you tend to get more home for the money if you are open to a contemporary floor plan.

Not really - very few African-Americans or Hispanics. Higher than average number of Asians and Europeans, though, attracted by the great schools.

If you want diversity(mainly hispanic and black) then you should look at west cobb(mableton,austell..ect)

The schools are garbage compared to other parts of cobb though(Pebblebrook, osborne, south cobb...ect) are not worth anything. If you care about schools then you would stay away from those areas.

Pebblebrook, Osborne, and South Cobb are not garbage.
