Can someone explain to me the Fulton county - senior homestead exemptions? I've read through the materials on the Fulton county government website but it's confusing to me.

I can't explain the homestead exemptions, but my brother applied for the senior exemption and his property taxes were lowered quite a bit, so it's definitely worth the effort. Also, as long as one person on the deed is over 65, you will qualify. Hope this helps.

Fulton county - property taxes and assessed home value
How is assessed home value determined in Fulton County for property tax purposes? I see it's based on the Fair Market Value, which I guess is based on market comps and etc. Is square footage used for these tax calculations?
