Pulling data from Wikipedia.

Their building is 2,717 feet and the tallest in Atlanta is the Bank of America building at 1,023 feet. So think of it as putting another BoA building on top and then putting the next door AT&T building on top of that!

Or stack the three tallest buildings in Atlanta, BoA building, the SunTrust Plaza building, and One Atlantic Center (the former IBM building) and the Dubai building is still 3 feet higher!

And I heard that the Saudi's plan an even taller building.

Yes, this developer is thinking about the long term, this building will take at least 24-30 months to construct, the economy will be ripe by then, at least we hope.

Long term? Does he expect a scarcity of office space in Atlanta and there simply won't be room for more office towers?

This will be mostly hotel, The Mandarin Oriental.
