I have been living in the Atlanta metro area for 4 years now, & moved here from Milwaukee, WI, for a better paying job & better weather. Since living here I have noticed that most ppl that live here are not native Atlantians. So name what state/city you moved from & why you chose the Atlanta area to live in....just for fun.

About 59% of us are native Georgians, though. As am I.

From statistics right here at City-Data!
Atlanta Population Profile
Percent of residents born in state: 58.5%
(Note that I did say "about 59%".)

It's changing daily with the influx of newcomers and we are likely to be outnumbered soon, but contrary to popular opinion, native Georgians still comprise over half of the Atlanta population.

From Union County in New Jersey 3 weeks ago. For warmer weather and a more reasonable cost of living.

How are you liking it so far? We're doing a virtually identical move from Woodbridge, NJ to Canton, GA this summer. We fell in love with the area during our house-hunting trip last weekend, and bought a house on the spot.

Grew up in DC area. Moved here from Denver. Many aspects of Atlanta remind me of DC.
