I love the Dekalb farmers Market, but their bread/bagels, etc. get stale VERY fast, so you must freeze it or eat it all the day you buy it.

I've never been knocked out by their desserts, but I've only tried a few of their many selections.

I second Rhodes Bakery on Cheshire Bridge Rd. Nice family-owned operation with friendly staff, delicious sweets, and very reasonable prices.

I'll also give props to Alon's. They have a fairly new location across from Perimeter Mall which is huge. They have this amazing chocolate ganache bar.

My favorite bakery in Atlanta for desserts is Joli Kobe... it's a Japanese owned bakery specializing in French style desserts, cakes, etc. It is wonderful. Alons is way overrated in my opinion and the service there is not friendly at all, and it is way overpriced.
The Global Mall on JCB is definately the place to find Indian/South Asian shopping.

hit up the global mall area off jimmy carter Blvd (left off exit 99 on I-85 N) lots to choose from. Im white but i grew up in this area, and we have a strong Indi/Pakistani/Bengali Community county-wide. Although in Gwinnett its the "brown community."

There are 2 bakeries in Toco Hills: Bagel Palace & Simone's Bakery. Both are excellent. I believe both are kosher as well.
