I am in the process of retiring from the military and moving to the marietta area. I have a 12yr old daughter and was wandering where is the best place to live and how is the job market there.

Tell us more about what you are looking for and what would make it the best place for you. Does it really have to be Marietta or how far from it are you willing to go?

I am just looking for a nice place to raise my daughter and can find a job to support us after I retire. I will be making this move with my best friend of 8 yrs. she is a single parent with two kids and she is tranfering her job to the kenesawa area. I am willing to live anywhere in the surround area of marietta.

Oh well in that case I would try to in Kennesaw itself. But basically anywhere around Marietta will be able to support you after retirement and it is a very nice area. I have a cousin there and I visit often. The job market there is great, so is housing market. I don't have any real information about the schools in that area since my kids aren't in that area and my cousins aren't old enough to attend yet. I think you need answers as to what is going to give you the best schools and will also keep you close to your job. The only recommendation I can make is to stay away as far away from 285 as you can because the closer you get to it the less the majority of people like. Acworth and Lake Altoona are probably your best bets.

East cobb area east of Marietta has best public schools, east of I-75, south of Roswell Road, Marietta address.

Job market good. Lots of things to do. Whitewater, 6 flags, parks, Kennesaw Mt. lots of amusement things and educational places to visit for kids.
