My current roommate and I are thinking about moving to Atlanta from Manhattan, Ks. We are weighing our options of going to Graduate or Law school and may look at places to live around some colleges. We are also young and would like to know where some of the best nightlife is. We're looking to rent an apartment and need a cheap but safe place to live.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, "cheap and safe", "safe and near nightlife" and "cheap and near colleges" are ALL oxymorons.

Best nightlife: Virginia Highlands, East Atlanta Village, Buckhead, Little Five Points.

We are looking for reasonably priced areas to live with some access to great nightlife. We just don't know where to begin the apartment search.

If you were 22 and 23 years old, recently graduated from college, and looking to move to Atlanta...where in Atlanta would suit you best?

When I was a recent graduate, I lived in Candler Park. I was happy there. It's easy to walk to Little Five Points and Virginia-HIghlands from there. I'm sure the apartments there are a lot more expensive than they were 10 years ago.
