I'm doing a little research for a busy a friend who is contemplating a move to metro Atlanta. He doesnt want to live in the inner suburbs or the city but rather an area with easy transportation to downtown, a subdivision and amentities that come with it, but with a more rural feel than a place like alpharetta or Marietta. Can someone post some pros and cons of counties ike Gwinnett, Hall, Forsyth, Cherokee, Henry, etc. ??

Also, are there any key differences between these places? Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

thanks

Default it doesn't exist

Exurbs with easy access to downtown does not exist in the metro Atlanta area.

He doesn't want to live somewhere with easy access to downtown.

But he does want to live somewhere with easy access to downtown.

That doesn't make sense.

In Atlanta, the only way to get to ANY destination easily is to make sure the starting point of your journey is as close as possible to your destination.

If he wants to live somewhere rural, he will not have easy transportation to downtown. IF such a place exists, it's only a matter of time (months, not years) before it becomes developed and is no longer rural.

South Fulton maybe - it is definitely more "rural" but I cannot speak for other variables such as crime, school system, and shopping amenities.

He could consider Newnan just because there is a GRTA express bus that goes from there to downtown. You can find some pretty rural areas around there. Anywhere on the northside that feels rural is going to be so far out it will take you a couple of hours to get into town. Also areas west of Douglasville might work.
