From the intersection of 285/I 20 on the west side of Atlanta to Hiram and/or Dallas.

I just got an offer for a job in that area and I'd like to be in the country (live in Paulding County - Hiram area approximately) if at all possible.

Any advice regarding country living and rush hour commute times to that point appreciated too.

Thanks to anyone who can help me on this.

You worded the question weird.

If you're going 'TO' Hiram from 285, I'd say 30 minutes, 20 to Thorton Road North(278). You're going against traffic.

But I think you mean from Hiram to 285/20. Maybe 50-60 minutes, haven't been that way in the morning, in a while.

I live right off of the Thornton Road exit of 20 West. It doesn't take 20 minutes from the 285/20 juncture unless there's an accident or something like there was today. More like 10. That's in the evening. Obviously I haven't done it in that direction during morning rush time.

On a serious note, it depends on where. Top end can see delays before 7 am lasting past 10 am and from before 3 pm to as late as 8.

Are you driving through or something?

One of the worst problems if you're heading toward Atlanta on I-20 from the West is the morning sunshine slowdown. When you reach a certain point, you're literally staring into the sun along with everyone else on the road and everyone stops because they're blind for a bit.

But the drive back to the West in the evening isn't as bad as commuting to the northern or southern suburbs!
