I'm looking for a black guitar teacher in the Alpharetta area. Can anyone help? A black hip hop teacher would be great too.

Nothing wrong with what you're asking, but why do they have to be black? That's like asking specifically for a gay lawn maintenance guy.

If they know their skill what difference does it make?

You're looking for someone to teach about the history and culture of hip-hop, or someone to teach how to rap, etc? There are a few good people for the former. I'd stay away from the latter...

In Alpharetta!?! Good luck with that!

Seriously, the race of the guitar teacher shouldn't matter. Basic musical instruction for a child is race independant. If your straying into certain other genres, and you're past basic music theory, that's a different story. As for a hip hop teacher, if you want urban hip hop, you're gonna have to go into the city for that. Basic hip hop moves, well, if you haven't noticed the recent commercials or competitions, it has certainly crossed over. There are some dance schools that advertise "hip hop". Seriously, if you find one (a black teacher), I'd love to know.

I think so too. This is nonsense. People get reeled in these types of topics too easily.

Talent is talent, not attached to a person's race.

My son used youtube for guitar lessons, and he's awesome. I asked him if any of the 'teachers' were black so I could recommend them to you, but he said he didn't notice, did I want him to pull them up to check? lol.

Stevie Ray Vaughn or Jimmy Hendrix?!? I don't care what color they are, they were both great guitar players! I do agree with trying youtube. There are great videos on all sorts of different styles. Some are better than others so you have to weed through them.
