Having lived in both, its honestly hard to see a dimes worth of difference between the two. The one slight positive I would give to Cobb is that parts of the county has more rolling hills than anywhere I've seen in Gwinnett which I think is really beautiful.

I used to live right adjacent to Kennesaw Mountain Park in the Ridenour community. I think I was a bit spoiled by all that beauty after awhile.

You are right that there is little difference between Gwinnett and Cobb. The differences I see are more subtle or inconsequential. The main difference I see is demographics, but again, pretty slight at the end of the day.

Also, I think that Gwinnett didn't really take off developing until the 1980's while many parts of Cobb county are much older. I see a lot of 1950's ranch houses in Marietta and Smyrna, and East Cobb seemed to really take off in the 1970's. I love all those angular, wood-framed contemporary houses that were all the rage during that era out that way.

Yessir! I think the contemporary homes are under-appreciated...they are really beautiful...in nice, woodsy, hilly neighborhoods...a lot of house for a decent price.

I think more people should look into them--people who want to live in East Cobb at a reasonable price. The homes are also family-friendly. There a lot of them in the Pope, Lassiter, and Sprayberry districts especially.

(the scattering of some ranch and split-level homes are also excellent and more affordable East Cobb choices)

Interesting and I would have to agree. I think Gwinnett is a great place to live in. Well, most areas. There are plenty of areas to stay away from but plenty of top notch areas.
