Lemme correct you a bit on the transportation. DC works on a mileage rate with the metro and a flat rate for bus. Bus is $1.25 one way or $2.50 round trip if you're using cash and you're not charged if you travel back within 2 hours using a smart trip card

Metro prices vary from $1.85-about $5 one way, depending on how far out you need to go and when you go as well, with rush hour increasing prices by about .60 more than a regular non-rush hour trip. All day pass is like $8.00(Info for you visitors in case you're wondering) Still pricing can be a bit much when you add in parking and the fact it seems they raise prices, it seems every 6 months lol

I know all of this. I took the Springfield Metro into downtown daily. Had to pay $5 to park, and about $5 both ways to and from work so it was about $15 a day

^For someone that used to work for the publishers of T&L, so what?

Everyone knows that their target market is very heavily skewed to the NY metro. Their readership know more about foreign cities than they do their own country.

Hopefully, you found an apartment in San Francisco directly above a Thai restaurant.

I like how the same thread in the northern Virginia page can function without any attacks on Atlanta unlike here with all the attacks on DC... whatever makes you feel better

Nope, I'm in between the castro and the mission district, my street is all residential however I can go 2 blocks east or west of me and it's all mix use. Thank you for your concern though.
