Looking for advice on travel times and areas for homes.

We are thinking about moving to Atlanta and would work at the Newell Rubbermaid office. (in Sandy Springs)

$350-$500K
~3500 sq ft
4/5BR 3/4BA
Basement
1/3 acre or more

best public schools

dont want to be in traffic more than 40 min each way
2 kids - 6 and 3

I would look at houses in the Alpharetta, GA area. I work at NWL and have several colleagues who commute from Alpharetta. The commute ranges from 15-40 minutes depending on the traffic. Alpharetta has pretty good (and new) homes in that price range and is known for good schools.

thanks for the info. What time in the morning do you leave home?

Also, would Roswell be a better location traffic-wise?

East Cobb has also reportedly been popular with relocating folks for Newell Rubbermaid.

So did you survive newell? Several neighbors of mine who moved to Atlanta to work for Newell are already out.
