I'd hope the DOT took into consideration the impact the shopping center was going to have on Riverwatch traffic before they re-did the bridge and interchange... In reality, Riverwatch will need to be widened to eight lanes and then dwindle down to six just after the comcast/delta complex for the rest of the trip downtown.

I know the current six lanes quickly turn into four a few hours out of the day as the traffic turning left backs up into the flow of traffic continuing downtown. Could be a potential mess!

The amount of traffic on Riverwatch parkway may exceed Washington road in the future. The surrounding land is nothing but empty acres waiting for growth.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bass Pro Shops isn't open anytime soon. They were going to build one in Buffalo, NY. They waited 10 years for the city to get it's act together agree on the plans for a revitalization package. BPS reduced the size of the store numerous times and made a ton of changes. That whole project is now DEAD.

That Buffalo BPS was to the first one in the Northeast. Well, lots can happen in 10 years. There's at least of them now just off the top of my head including one in Canada!

BPS has lots of patience so don't write them off yet! Start smacking the developer upside the head. Give him a little motivation.

I think we'll know the full details concerning the Bass Pro by next year.

I'd rather have REI build in our area, no matter if they start on the Bass Pro soon or not. REI is a superior retail store if you ask me.

Costco is getting built faster than Bass Shop Pros!

Good question!

Where is VAR going to be? I'm trying to find my way around more of Augusta. Got the Mall and the Exchange down pat! I've found my way around part of downtown. Lots to check out there! Still need to head over to Riverwatch - the park on the river....not sure exactly what it's called.

At least there's plenty of shopping and dining in Augusta! Makes up for what's missing in Aiken. There are some things that Augusta doesn't have which REALLY surprises me....like Cheesecake Factory, Pottery Barn, Whole Foods/Trader Joe's and an amusement/water park!
