The Emporium Condos next to 1102 on Broad street are under construction. The entrance and a couple of blocks on broad street are gated off by a wooden barrier.

I think the layout was 15-20 condos and either retail, commercial, or both.

Downtown Augusta keeps growing and improving daily.

The population of Artist Row continues to increase. 11th and 10th streets especially. All we need now is for the Woolworth building to start construction. It's on 8th and broad. This will help to get more ppl living in between 9th street and Olde Town.

Woolworth Condos
Atlanta-based Redstar Development will begin renovations. The $2.5 million project includes 15 second-floor condos and street-level retail space.

The developers are "talking to big-box tenants," but they will most likely split the 20,000-square-foot retail space into four or five spaces, he said.

"Our project is going to look a little different for Augusta, but it's going to still be keeping with the same style, just with a modern twist," Mr. Williams said.

This will fail along with the Port Royal and Whites Building development. You guys dont get it. Augusta is not ready for condos. That is why Port Royal and the Whites Building went under and foreclosed.

Par4him, if I'm not mistaken, isn't the reason why the Whites Building lost their financing due to their bank (which is in Atlanta) going under?

Also, last thing I heard was that 90% of Port Royal's condos were occupied, and when did it ever go under or foreclose?

I had been looking for a link to the development but never saw one on the forum, and I stumbled on the site for it today, so here you go if anyone's interested:

This is a building located on James Brown Boulevard/9th street. In between the new Judicial Center and Library.

The building is being renovated into upscale apartments.

Par4ham is nothing but a troll who makes up lies on here constanly.... That's why most people in the forum tune him out. Sometimes you have to respond though because it gets irritating.

Actually the Port Royal is more like 93% occupied. And the Whites Building is about to be sold to a developer. The building has 17-20 finished condos, Casa Blanca Cafe, and Revolt clothing store. The developer will finished the other 40 condos.

Nortonguy, I don't mean to be rude, but was that 3% so important that you HAD to correct me? Just wondering

Also, that's good news about the Whites Building, I know they said that the top 2 floors were unfinished, so hopefully that gets the ball rolling.
