No hate, because I agree with you. I don't think this is the year for Augusta, but I think it is going to be Augusta's decade. We're gonna see a lot of changes. Before the end of this decade, there will be a ballpark downtown, the combined U is going to increase population density downtown as well as change the city's skyline. Not to mention, there is going to be more retail downtown. Paine's H.E.A.L center/building is making its way to completion. So, there is no doubt that downtown is improving for the better. Though I think Courtland Dousseau's Hyatt is on ice, there is room for a major hotel brand downtown. I know he is not going to be a part of it. West Augusta is going to continue to expand and eventually become Augusta's premier cbd. More plants will be built in south Augusta, but no real retail. Aiken will solidify its spot as the number 2 city in the metro with Evans and Grovetown pulling up the rear. Of course, I'm not posting anything new.

Nothing major downtown besides GRU will add to the skyline.. And as for the rest of August I agree west Augusta will take the cake. Too bad because downtown is a hidden treasure.

Holiday Inn Express, Artspace, etc? Unless were talking about 3-5 years from now which can't be predicted. Given the current information I can't see how the Village at Riverwatch, Wheeler Town Park, Augusta Exchange(almost fully developed already) in West Augusta will out match the GGHF, renovated Fort Discovery(Discovery Plaza), Artspace, renovated Miller theater, Holiday Inn Express, etc... Multiple companies similar to the size of ADP would have to open in West Augusta first...

West Augusta= Hotels, residential, retail, movie theaters, & restaurants

Downtown= performing arts center, student dorms, research buildings, theaters, large possible employers(Discovery Plaza), residential, restaurants, hotels, & retail

I'm not including the entertainment complex(Cal Ripken)/mixed used development(Jim Jacoby) or the Marion building which local developer Clay Boardman(Enterprise Mill, William Robinson School, etc) is sitting on...

I believe plans were to 'stabilize' the building (i.e. stop leaks, etc.) and then try to find a buyer. Is this correct anyone?
