No, both West Augusta and South Augusta are in the consolidated Augusta-richmond county. Neither one was apart of the city before consolidation.

South Augusta is the consolidate southern part of the county. South Augusta turns into Hephzibah. Hephzibah and Blythe are in South Richmond county. But have their own goverments, police, schools, etc. South Augusta goverment is the city of Augusta.

South Richmond county. Includes South Augusta and two other cities. Hephzibah and Blythe which have their own goverments, police, schools, etc. South Augusta goverment is the city of Augusta.

there two type of South Augustas. Inner 520 and Outer 520. Inner is usually the lower end of the income spectrum, Regency part and outer is the nicer subdivision, Ft Gordon and Diamond Lake part. Outer 520 also has Hephzibah and Goshen as neighbors.

Lol almost got scared huh. The city is still where majority of the metro residents. Party, shop, dine, etc. Their is alot of growth in the burbs no doubt. Retail, office buildings, subdivisions, and restaurants. Evans, North Augusta, Aiken, and Martinez are growing alot. Even the smaller suburbs are growing. Grovetown, Hephzibah, Thomson, Clearwater, and Edgefield are growing. The city is booming though with construction. Dowtown and West Augusta especially.
