My wife and I would like to relocate to Sun City Texas but I need to find a group home for my mother-in-law. She's turning 90 and had stroke 12 years ago. In wheel chair and needs help with all activities of daily living like bathing, toileting, etc. She's now in a home with 8 other similar people with aides 24/7. I don't want a big place. Any suggestions near Sun City?

There are several good ones in Georgetown but their waiting lists are a year long - at least that's what I was told for my Grandmother who is on Medicaid. There are some websites that give grades on them when you search. We decided on Park bend Health Center in North Austin for her and couldn't be happier.

Here are a couple of links : Wesleyan Homes , The Wesleyan at Estrella: located on Williams Drive, which is a CCRC with an Independent Living Facility. It has plans to build: assisted living, memory-care and nursing home facilities in the future. The Lodge at Rocky Hollow: located on CR 245, which is an Assisted Living Center that is a Certified Dementia/Alzheimer’s Community. http://rockyhollowal.samsbiz.com/

Morning Star CCRC: plans to build a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) on Williams Drive, which will be adjacent to the Sun City property.

I hope this information helps. I live in Sun City and there is supposed to be another facility open at the entrance of Sun City one day, but no signs yet as to a start date.
